Still with me?  Are you, hopefully, beginning to grasp the immensity of the problem?

If you need one more push, consider that, according to some string theorists, there would need to be 10^500 additional universes than this one to explain the incredibly intricate systems of our universe.

That is: 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
000000000000000000000000000000000000000 (10^500) MORE universes that exist with less perfect, almost but not quite perfect, or not at all perfect conditions for life, just to “balance” this universe’s life giving perfection out.

Honestly, just consider that.  And these universes still have some order, just not the right order for the universe we live in.  We will talk more about this soon, but I wanted to introduce the immensity of the order that we live in.  It is almost beyond the comprehension of the mind.

And it is beyond the ken of a random universe.  It is not possible for random chance to be this perfect, anyone who owns a toddler knows that randomness never brings order.

So, we see that scientists are recognizing a unity, a consciousness to the universe.  We can see that quantum physics is so weird that it should not make sense, yet it exists.  We see that even if we allow some order, we would still need 10^500 universes to make this one the way it is.  We can see order, the increase and deliberate application of energy, is the prevalent, dominant force in everything from atoms to the universe as a whole.

And we know it shouldn’t be.

So what’s the answer?

(Y’all know where I am going with this.  If, at this point, you are starting to balk, maybe get irritated or panic a little, that is totally ok.  You have gone through a series of observations and thought experiments and the results are not what you want to see.  That sense of discomfort is just a wee bit of cognitive dissonance–the primal part of your brain is trying to force a different fit than the conclusion you have already seen.  It is uncomfortable but not fatal 🙂  Just take a breath and say “Look, I have the choice here to hide in my dissonance or to be bold and follow the logic. My feeling irritated/annoyed is just feelings.  I can listen to my feelings or I can follow the logic.”.)
