37Jesus declared, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’d 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’e 40All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:37-40
My goal this year is to really learn to love.
Love God—with my entire being.
Love people—in every opportunity that comes across.
Love my enemies—praying for their salvation.
Love when I’m tired.
Love when I don’t want to.
Not just warm fuzzy, pink hearts love.
But bleeding hands love. Weary shoulders love. Soaring heart love. Love that works and thinks and intercedes.
Sacrificial. Straight from the Lord. Because-He-first-loved-us love.
Greatest-of-these love. Lay down my life love. Clean up cat sick at 2am love. Smile at the grouchy anybody love.
Love strongly, fiercely, gently, completely selflessly.
That is my goal.
Love.
