21For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. 22But if I go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. So what shall I choose? I do not know. 23I am torn between the two. I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better indeed. 24But it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body.

25Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith, 26so that through my coming to you again, your exultation in Christ Jesus will resound on account of me. Philippians 1:21-26

I win.

Whether I live or die, I win.

So do you, if you are in Christ.

If we are on the earth, in our bodies, then we can do fruitful work, ushering our family and friends to heaven.  Exhorting the weak and comforting the sorrowed and befriending the stranger.  Loving and teaching and serving.

While we must not hasten our death, if we die, we will be with the Lord, full of joy and residing in paradise.  Our work will be over and we will enter pure rest.  No fear, no sorrow, no pain.

There is much freedom in that.  Free to do without anxiety.  Free to embrace life without being afraid of losing it.

If I live, I win.  If I die, I win.

In either case, in the Lord, I win.
