For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
We are at war.
The Word says it; we can see it.
We are not at war against people. We are not at war against countries or soldiers.
We are at a higher war than merely in the flesh. We are at war for souls and against thoughts and ideas and arguments that stand against God.
We find these evil fortresses in others….and in ourselves. There are pretenses and arguments and ideas and desires even within us that strive to break us from the Lord.
We must understand that we are spiritual beings fighting a spiritual battle. We are not just little babes tottering around in our global playpen, drinking our milk, playing with our toys, while angels and demons fight above us. No, we are part of that battle. (I think the church may not do enough emphasis on this, honestly.)
We must war against ourselves, against the enemy’s infiltrators and our own desires that seep into our mind, swaying us away from the Lord.
We must war to save lost souls, to bring them to the Lord.
We must war against spiritual forces in the heavenly realms.
Make no mistake, we are at war.
